Short answer: when you finish a course that counts for TCOLE credit, we send it to TCOLE for you automatically, as long as your TCOLE PID is on your profile. You don't need to do anything else, and you don't need to retake anything.
How it works
- You finish the course and your certificate is issued. For an in-person or blended class, that happens when your instructor submits the class roster. See I took an in-person class.
- We send the completion to TCOLE electronically, usually the same day.
- TCOLE records it. It can take a few days for it to appear on your Personal Status Report (PSR) on the TCOLE website.
No PID on your profile? We don't send the completion to TCOLE until you add one, because TCOLE can't accept a completion without a PID. Add your PID in your profile. Completions from the last 29 days are then sent automatically. Anything older is past TCOLE's 30-day electronic window, so your academy's training coordinator enters it on a late roster.
Check the status yourself. Ask the assistant: "Was my [course name] sent to TCOLE?" It tells you whether it was sent, when, and whether TCOLE accepted it.
If TCOLE rejected it, the assistant will tell you why and open a support request so our team can fix it and send it again. The usual cause is a mistyped PID. If the PID we have is wrong, tell the assistant: a person checks PID changes before they're saved, so credit never goes to another officer's record.
"Already completed for this training cycle." If you see this on a course page, we already have your completion of that course for the current TCOLE training unit. It isn't an error, and retaking it wouldn't give you more credit. You can still re-read the material: see Reviewing a course you already completed.
Training you took somewhere else doesn't come from us, so we can't send it. To see all your hours in one place, upload your TCOLE PSR on My TCOLE cycle and we'll count training from every provider.
