Course Description:  The Advanced Law Enforcement Rapid Response Training (ALERRT) Level I – Basic Active Shooter Response course is an intensive, hands-on training program designed to equip law enforcement officers with the knowledge, tactical skills, and decision-making abilities necessary to respond effectively to active shooter incidents and other critical threats to public safety.

This comprehensive course emphasizes rapid response, officer safety, threat assessment, and coordinated tactical operations to prepare first responders to isolate, distract, and neutralize an active threat while minimizing the loss of life.

Participants will receive instruction in shooting and moving techniques, threshold evaluation, solo-officer and team movement strategies, room entry procedures, crisis-site approaches, breaching considerations, secondary responder tactics, improvised explosive device awareness, and post-engagement priorities.

Through realistic, scenario-based exercises and dynamic force-on-force training, participants will apply classroom instruction in simulated high-risk environments, strengthening their situational awareness, tactical proficiency, communication, and ability to make critical decisions under pressure.

Target Audience:  This course is designed for licensed peace officers, including patrol officers, deputies, school-based law enforcement officers, tactical personnel, and other eligible sworn law enforcement professionals responsible for responding to active shooter incidents.
