COURSE OVERVIEW:   Classen Buck Seminars Inc in partnership with Training 9-1-1 Heroes brings this course to our members. This course was designed  for telecommunication officers, however it is available to all users.

Everybody loves dogs, but did you know that K9s have been used in Public safety for centuries? K9s play an integral part in both fire and police departments. Familiarity with the types of K9s available can help ECPs better prepare for calls requiring a K9.

In this course, the students will be able to discuss the history of K9s in public safety, explain the traits in K9s used in public safety, list the best breeds for public safety K9s, differentiate between patrol K9s and detection K9s, discuss the differences between single-purpose and dual-purpose K9s, explain the jobs performed by public safety K9s, list the three types of human remains detection dogs, and determine the appropriate uses of dogs in the ECC.

LENGTH OF COURSE: 2 Hours

TARGET AUDIENCE:  Telecommunicators and/or any user interested in this topic

PASS RATE: Students must score 75% on the knowledge checkpoints and 80% on the final examination.
