Course Description:  The Intermediate Crime Scene Investigation course is designed for Texas Peace Officers seeking to enhance their knowledge and skills in crime scene processing, evidence collection, and forensic documentation. This 40-hour course builds upon foundational investigative techniques and introduces advanced methods used in modern forensic investigations.

Participants will gain hands-on experience in crime scene analysis, proper handling of physical evidence, and the application of forensic principles to criminal cases. The course emphasizes the importance of preserving the integrity of a crime scene, using scientific techniques to document findings, and effectively communicating investigative results in legal proceedings.

This course meets the Texas Commission on Law Enforcement (TCOLE) requirements for Intermediate Crime Scene Investigation (Course #2106). Participants who successfully complete the course will receive TCOLE credit.

Target Audience:  This course is designed for licensed Texas Peace Officers who have completed basic crime scene investigation training and wish to develop more advanced skills in forensic investigations.

REQUIRED MATERIAL:  Pen and paper and a laptop or tablet with USB capability
